Glidden Trade Endurance Floor Paint review by Lynx Decorators LTD
Once again we have been busy with some new paints and in this post we take a look at Glidden Trade Floor Paint.
What we have done:
We have just finished off some new build properties and to add a fresh look to a outbuilding we decided to give the floor a coat of Glidden Trade Floor Paint.
The Test:
We had prepared the floor earlier in the week with a Latex Self Level Compound to even the floor and to fill and small dips and cracks in the concrete floor. Our mission was to ensure that we acheived a tough, durable and a finish that took away the drab look of a bare concrete floor.
The Paint:
The paint is a very simple to use product. The strong metal can is durable and will no doubt store for a long time if kept airtight. We used a Grey colour for our application.
The Application:
Using a roller and a pole and a large tray we began applying the paint to the floor. (making sure that we had brushed and even hoovered the floor to take up any dust or foreign bodies that may effect the finish).
Glidden Trade Paints state the one coat is sufficient for concrete apllication and went about applying this product with this is mind.
The application was relatively easy to do and working from the furthest point we worked back towards the door. We kept the area well ventilated although this paint is not high odour its something we do naturally.
The Finish:
We allowed a full 16 hour drying time and found the paint had finished very nicely. It is robust and can take everything the traffic into the outbuilding can throw at it. (including running a loaded wheelbarrow in and out all day). Any dirt on the floor is just swept out.
Our Thoughts:
Floor paints are often overlooked or unused. However the benefits of using a floor paint can improve any bland floor. The robust finish was definately a surprise to us. We have used floor paints before that have had to be given a second coat or have cracked in the drying process.
This is a very good product, and is worth the price. As floor paints go we are going to rate this 10/10
